Have you ever seen the movie “Clueless”? Well, I’ve seen it at least 15 times!!!
This movie, based on the clueless life of a high school girl looking for love, has always made me think of a lot of things. But first, let me tell you some facts about the story. The main character Cher is always looking for ways to turn negative situations into great outcomes. Even though she is the typical preppy popular girl, she cares for others and fights for what she wants. In a lot of the scenes of the movie, she is totally clueless about what she says, but at the end of the day, she gets a happy and not so clueless ending.
What I love about this movie is that I can relate to this character a lot. And as the first post of this blog, I think it’s a good opportunity to tell you about myself.
In 2015 I moved to Hamburg, Germany and this was the first time I was about to live on my own. Before coming there I had pictured how I wanted things to work out there, but to my surprise, I was completely clueless. I’m a person that always achieves her goals, this being said, when I went to Germany not everything went as planned. The worst situation I had to overcome was not having internet for four days, so imagine how much time I spent going on walks at the park, just thinking about my situation. As a girl from Mexico, there is always a cliché that when we travel to Europe we get to know ourselves. To my surprise… I was clueless about what I wanted in the future, but I know that it would be great.
One of my favorite hobbies is to learn languages, so far I know English and Spanish (of course), French and in Germany, I was improving my German skills. The best thing about learning languages is that when you travel somewhere you can totally communicate with the locals and get to know more about their culture. I also love dancing! I danced to Ballet for about seven years. Right now I only dance at parties because it’s good cardio and makes you fit!
I graduated in December 2018 as a Bs. Business and IT, and if you don’t know what it is… here is a quick explanation. Take the best of engineering and IT, mix it with some administration and finance classes and voilà! I like to think this as the best of both worlds, I’ve learned so much and every day I try to learn more! On my free time, I love reading Wikipedia and learn about the world around me. I also have a little addiction to try new technologies and I am passionate about how it can improve our life.
Just to finish, I can definitely relate to Cher because although she is totally clueless, she is smart and enthusiast of making something happen with an impact and elegance.
So am I done talking about myself? AS IF!
